The title of this entry is one of my new favorite songs that I just heard on the radio in Bloomington about a week ago. You can listen to it here.
Day one of my new adventures was a pretty okay success, but with a few minor setbacks. I had absolutely no idea what was going on in German this morning. Apparently our story was about a little boy who dreamed about floating a paper boat down a river. I got something about a little boy and a boat going down a river, and our assignment in class was to draw a picture of what happened in our part of the story. Obviously my misinterpretation changed the meaning of the story significantly, which was a bit embarrassing, but at least it's not the end of the world...
Other setbacks: I skipped math again to take care of another assignment--but it's still okay because we're reviewing what we did in my prep class last semester--and found out that I have another WebWork assignment due on Wednesday. Then while I finished the big assignment for my audio production class, I decided to use this week as the week not to do the reading responses since we get one free week. I forgot about the part where we couldn't use this week. Oops.
Beyond that, things went well. Audio production actually sounds like it's going to be pretty sweet once we actually get into it. The first week was slow, but I really like the feel of Pro Tools. Too bad it's super expensive and isn't provided to us by the university (after the deal with Adobe, I'm starting to get spoiled) but perhaps I will find a way to have it bestowed upon me like I did Final Cut. Heh.
I visited Jenna, which was interesting because as I sat down, her mattress decided to fall off the frame in the corner and send me hurtling toward the floor. The result was a full half hour of each of us taking turns fixing the bed and immediately breaking it again. Hopefully we fixed the problem for good now, but I'm still a little afraid of sitting on it in fear of breaking it. That's the last thing I need--paying for a broken bed.
One thing is for sure: Jenna's roommate Alli has decided we're the weirdest couple ever after hearing our conversations. Luckily Jenna has learned not to question my off-the-wall conversation topics, but answer all of my questions as if I was talking about the weather. This is why we've been together for six years.
Also, I made this little beauty. The new thing on Facebook is to change your profile picture to your celebrity lookalike. In retaliation, I posted a picture of Kevin--the bird from the Disney/Pixar film Up--as my profile picture. Then I realized that Damien from Mean Girls is basically my theatrical alter ego (except for the fact that I don't want to have sex with men), so I decided to take it one step better and combine the two...

With Kevin staring suspiciously from Damien's back.
