Twenty-Five Minutes

Well, today has been exciting and I've only been awake for a few hours.

Last night I got to hang out at the girls' sleepover, which was actually really cool. I didn't actually sleepover (although I was invited, I just had to sleep on the futon while the three of them would sleep on the bed), but we talked for a while and it was just a really good time. Apparently they're having sleepovers more often. =-)

The downside of the sleepover was that I stayed up later than I had intended and I had to face all of my classes today with less sleep than I'd hoped. Somehow I managed to survive E301 (Literatures in English to 1600) without dying. And I was really afraid of that class because we had this massive package of books, but it turns out we're not even using one of them, it was just cheaper to buy them as a full set instead of just the two books. So that's definitely a good thing, and the class seems at least manageable.

All of my Tuesday classes are in Ballantine Hall, which is odd because I've never had a class in Ballantine. I really like it though, because as I was walking down the hall to get some food, I looked into one of the classrooms and lo and behold, there was Jenna waiting for her next class. So I stopped in and talked to her for a bit, and then right around the corner, Claire was waiting outside one of the other classrooms, so I talked to her for a while and saw Mike, one of the guys from Cru, while I was talking to her. So that was pretty exciting since I rarely see anyone around campus.

German was probably the scariest experience of my life. Our teacher, a grad student, didn't speak a word of English for the first twenty-five minutes of class. Then we had to introduce ourselves and say where we were from in German. So yeah, it was pretty frightening since I've never spoken a word of German in my life, and all of a sudden I was forced into it. It was ridiculous, but I guess I caught on pretty quickly. He finally started speaking English when he went through the syllabus, so that was a relief, but still, it was pretty nuts. That class is going to kick my ass.

And now I'm doing laundry and waiting around for my last class--Late Plays of Shakespeare. I couldn't be any more excited, let me tell you...
