the red death

well, i guess it was inevitable that my poor 360 would one day meet the red ring of death. i thought it might survive it since it's lasted me this long, but alas it has seen its last days. i was hoping it was just for overheating because i tried turning it back on after work and for a second it worked, but then later i tried again and met the damned rings again.

i don't think i'd be nearly as upset if 1) i hadn't JUST bought a new tv this semester, 2) i wasn't going to be home for thanksgiving in the time that it will be gone, and 3) if banjo-kazooie hadn't just come out YESTERDAY and the original game is on xbox live, which i can only access from home and thanksgiving will be my last time home for the year. so yeah, this couldn't have come at a worse time. plus i just ordered some new wgi dvd's and it's way easier to watch them on my tv than my computer.

the funny thing is that my usb ports on the 360 were being screwy earlier, and i was thinking "hmm, i should probably call microsoft about that and see if they can fix that." and for the last few months it refuses to recognize my ipod as a device, even though it clearly is a device and it used to work just fine before. and lo and behold, not three hours later i get the red ring of death.

pity me. someone?
