Cabin Fever

Overall this has actually been an uneventful day. But there's always something noteworthy about my day...

The best part about the day was probably the fact that I woke up around 10:30. Granted, it was because my phone was beeping incessantly from the "lounge," and it was a completely random text message that I'm glad I got, but I would've been happier to get it later in the day without the nasty beeping waking me up.

The reason I slept in so late is mostly because there is absolutely nothing to be done on freshman move-in day, because leaving the floor is simply not an option. I made the mistake of walking to the center building once, and that was a terrible idea: there were people everywhere and the circle drive was completely full, to the point where everyone was trapped in. It was awful.

I did, however, make an escape to Willkie, where I was terribly disappointed to find that 1) there were no wheat subs, 2) the Willkie Weather Lady has been relocated to Wright Quad, and 3) the Willkie Weather Lady's co-workers in the little sub shop did not like her. All of this at once was rather devastating, so I remained on the floor for most of the day, where I discovered that Marble Madness for NES is an amazing game, and I'm ridiculously good at "Politically Incorrect Guess Who?"

I meandered my way to my first day of work at the Auntie Anne's in the College Mall, and it was a pretty interesting day. I think it went faster than most shifts at Eastland Mall, but it was weird because the other two people I closed with are sisters, so they were talking to each other the entire time and didn't really say a whole lot to me. But I survived, and that's really the only part that matters. I'm not sure how much I'm going to like working there, but it's a job and Debi has given me most of the week off (I'm only working on Wednesday nights), so I can do my homework during the week and work on the weekends without having to juggle everything during the week.

After work, I hung out in the lounge for a while and then Elise and I went to talk to a couple of the freshman guys. We then enlightened one of them, whose name is Joe, because he wasn't sure why everyone laughed when he said his name was Joe. So Elise told the stories about last year's Joe *cough* "Big Joe" *cough* and then his friends came in and they all went to a frat party--which is a new occurence for the Forest 2A residents because last year, nobody on the floor did the whole partying thing.

But we then moved on to my room with Claire, Leigh, Rachel, and Dani, which was a blast because it reminded me that I really am one of the few decent guys in the world. And that's always a good thing.

And three episodes of The Office later, I'm here, and about to get to bed because Alex has a test in the morning and I feel bad staying up late for no reason. Haha. But first, I must finish Velvet Elvis since I'm 13 pages away, and someone kept interrupting me when I was trying to read it earlier.

But that's a whole 'nother story. =-)
